This tiny
North End eatery strives for simplicity with its low-key approach to
decor and focused approach to cooking.
The menu changes fairly often, but you can expect simple Italian
food like chicken escarole soup, veal cacciatore and an appetizer of
roasted sweet peppers. Pagliuca's does take reservations for parties
of four or more; grab a few friends and call ahead to avoid waiting
in line.
"When I was younger my parents would take us
to eat in eh North End at least one a month we tried just about
every place there before trying Pag's. From that point on we only
went there. The food in our opinion is the best, I have tried pretty
much everything on the menu and LOVE It all! There Chicken Felix is
to die for, Chicken Campanga and Chicken Parm are the best ever!!
The staff is so great, one of the waitress even remembered me after
I hadn't been in for like two years."
Pag's is my favorite restaurant
in the North End and that is why I cannot
believe some of these bad reviews! You go into
Pag's and is a friendly Italian atmosphere. It
is not a restaurant that you can go into quickly
and grab a nice dinner or have a nice romantic
dinner (depending on the time). When going to
Pag's you need to plan on having a nice, long,
enjoyable, homemade Italian dinner with all the
fixings of Italy. Enjoy the homemade red wine,
Michael's Special and delicious Chicken Felix!
Wash it all down with Zambuca and homemade
Tiramisu. Go and have a great night of food,
wine and laughs with your friends or spouse,
it's worth it!! I am actually heading there this
evening!

"Pag's is exactly the type of restaurant that you
picture when you think about the North End. It's the perfect place to
take the family on or a date. The food is always excellent and the
servers make you feel like your in your moms kitchen."
"Being tourists, my boyfriend and I had no idea
where to eat dinner. We went off the Freedom trail in search of a more
local venue. We were getting quite frustrated with all the fancy,
crowded restaraunts to choose from. We were delighted to find this
place. Small, cozy, and very local. Our seafood and pasta dish was
deliscious! I would recommend this restaurant to anyone in search of a
nice, relaxed place. "
"If you like nove Italian cuisine,
Pagliuca's will not suit your taste. This is Italian served 50's style
with big family portions, thick pastas, heavy sauces, and big meatballs.
The menu is extensive covering not only the usual dishes but specialty
preparations as well--fish, veal, shellfish, chicken, etc. The
atmosphere is pure Italian kitsch, bustling with Italian and non-Italian
families. You might even see a couple of goodfellas sitting in a corner
booth. We loved it when we lived in Brookline and we never miss it when
we come back to visit Boston. Get there early or make reservations. It's
not only a favorite of Bostonians but also one that attracts a lot of
walk-by tourists in the North End." |
